Multimedia geographical atlas prepared by "Meridian" is an excellent tool for working in geography lessons. In Tarnów it was presented for the first time as part of the XII Geographic Picnic in Tarnów. It aroused great interest of geography teachers of schools at all levels.
Personally, I use the Meridian atlas during all classes in geography at the 14th High School and Technical Secondary School No. 5 in Tarnów, and its use has become necessary for me for transparency and dynamics lesson. Atlas is well developed in terms of content. thematically divided, the content is current. It is easy to use and gives the opportunity to simultaneously discuss various thematic issues. I would recommend.

The City of Szczecin has been implementing a precursor project called "EDUCATIONAL portal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship - Szczecin". One of the main elements of the project was the purchase of valuable and tested educational content, including digital cartographic resources for the implementation of science curricula such as geography, nature, biology and humanities - history and WOS. Atlases prepared by the Meridian Publishing House are such a proposal.
The substantive and functional qualities of the atlases facilitate teaching, make classes more attractive, and what is especially important, encourage students to work independently at home. They also allow teachers to work effectively with students with special educational needs. We recognize the atlases of the Meridian Publishing House as a valuable and necessary element of the project.

The multimedia geographical atlas of the world is the digital equivalent of traditional paper atlases used in school. A variety of map topics allows the implementation of the core curriculum, and also encourages the student to explore and explore the world on his own. Illustrations and simple signatures associated with the location of the place on the map, make it easy to remember.
The introduction of a multimedia world atlas to schools, with the possibility of copying, also to students' home computers, gives the chance of real "equalization of opportunities" for students from all environments, at least in the field of geographical education. I support the project enabling its use in schools of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The multimedia historical atlas developed by Meridian Publishing House is a modern and universal teaching resource that can be used when working with various curricula at all educational levels. It contains reliable information in accordance with the current state of historical knowledge as well as carefully edited exercises adapted to students' abilities to develop historical skills. Noteworthy is the possibility of any display of selected elements of individual maps, which allows the teacher to adapt the cartographic image to the substantive content currently discussed in a given lesson, and students to check the degree of mastery of this content. Exercises for individual maps also perform a similar function. A particularly valuable advantage of this atlas is the possibility for the teacher to attach his own additional questions and commands. In this way, the Publisher created the opportunity to adapt the set of exercises to the individual needs of students and facilitated the development of tests of knowledge and skills for teachers. All functions that the atlas is equipped with are very easy to use. Therefore, due to its versatility and multimedia, it is a modern didactic means meeting the contemporary needs of students and teachers.

After the first few months of using the multimedia atlases of the Meridian Publishing House, we can demonstrate many advantages of these teaching aids. First of all, you should appreciate the wealth of information and content they provide, the ability to adapt them to the needs and capabilities of students. Ready materials can be provided with your notes, remarks or instructions. In everyday use, a useful feature is the option of printouts and work on many computers, which are possible thanks to the product's full use license.
These are ideal solutions in schools that are equipped with interactive whiteboard sets. The lessons are then interesting, they involve all students, teach them how to use / reach for different sources of knowledge and we do not have the impression of routine.

The multimedia atlas contains characteristics of elements of the geographical environment, illustrates selected natural and socio-economic issues of the world. The content of the atlas is enriched by photographs and information about interesting places, phenomena and processes. The atlas has been adapted to each curriculum. Thanks to careful updating, all maps contain the latest available data, and the attractive form of presentation is accompanied by a wealth of current information.
In order to better use various materials, individual maps include the ability to turn individual layers on and off. The scales of individual maps can be increased and decreased, which gives the opportunity to focus on a selected issue. In addition, it is possible to print maps and edit them.
Unlike wall maps, the atlas as a systematic collection of hand-held maps, creates wider possibilities of individualizing teaching, the use of tasks and exercises. The large variety of maps in the atlas, both in terms of content and presentation, is extremely conducive to geographical learning.
